It's Summa Time! My Summer Essentials for the Summer Season

Summer Essentials

Summer has officially begun and it's time to switch up my essentials. There are a few items that I can not live without, especially now that I live in a different climate. These are my TOP 5!

1. Moisturizing Shampoo/Conditioner
               - The higher the temps the more moisture I need so my hair does not feel like straw.

2. SPF 45
              - I had the bad habit of only wearing sunscreen at to the beach. Now, that's not an option.
I have to wear sunscreen everyday. You should see my ridiculous tan lines from wedding ring
and Nike FuelBand SE that I wear everyday. The Neutrogena sunscreen I posted above
is a great formula because it's very lightweight and non-greasy.

3. Sunglasses
               - Protect your eyes and look cool. Remember to apply sunscreen on your face, you don't want
huge tan lines on your face.

4. Denim Shorts
               - Pair them with sandals/flats and t-shirts/polos for a day look, then blouse and heels at night.

5. White Button Down Shirt
               - The infamous white button down shirt. Just like #4 it is extremely versatile. It's great to
wear to work, brunch, dinner, or the weekend. Dress it with a skirt, jeans, shorts, what ever
your heart desires. I prefer to roll up my sleeves to give a more casual vibe.

Being Forward In Fashion: LA Fashion Market Recap

Have you ever wondered what great designers are out there that you have never heard of? There are many of them! It's hard to keep track of them all, but during my recent trip to the California Market Center for the LA Fashion Market, there are few that stood out. I will be recapping those designers and showrooms that stood out and I'm taking notes about them.

I was greeted by Alexandra in the Los Angeles Fashion Forwards Showroom and she took her time showing me the different designers displayed. I absolutely felt in love with the Olena Dats' dress below. It was beautifully structured and can be worn with minimal accessories to really make the dress POP!

The other item that stood out to me was the Faubourg Du Temple "Trocadero" Jacket. I really like that the sleeves are sequined, since it really helps the military jacket really stand out. How awesome would it be to wear when it gets colder?! Check out the items below and how I would style them!

If you are a buyer or stylist pay Fashion Forwards a visit either at:

110 E. 9th St, Suite B525, Los Angeles, CA 90079

France: 40 Rue Des Ecoles, Paris 75005.

Both designers have websites and Instagrams, so go ahead and give them a follow!

Doing It Over

For many years my husband has wanted to go to The Do-Over in Hollywood. We were even thinking about planning a vacation to be able to attend an event. Basically, it's an outdoor/indoor club that's open a couple Sundays a month. It's from 2pm-10pm and multiple DJs perform. The DJs are not announced until they step out to perform, so it's a nice surprise because you'll never know who will show up!

From the videos we watched everyone was VERY casual and after attending I know why. It gets very hot, you want to dance, there's no space, and you're standing for eight hours. Even with all of these factors I had a GREAT time!

I decided to cut my jeans as I got dressed, which was a solid decision. Anyone else fed up on how short the inseams are for denim shorts these days?! I went with moccasins because I didn't want people stepping on my feet. Sneakers weren't an option for me.

I wore my lightweight Loft t-shirt, Old Navy jeans, Old Navy Tank Top, Minnetonka moccasins, Forever 21 bag, and Nine West sunglasses. Shop similar items below!

P.S. Wooden Wonder was the second performance. The DJ with the Kurt Cobain shirt is Elijah Wood. Not bad for my first official celeb sighting.

Easter Eggs & Ham

I spent Easter with my husband and my side of the family. It was great to see everyone on last time before our big move! It was a gorgeous day again today and I opted from a dress. I chose to pair the dress with black flats to prepare myself for Easter egg hunting with my little cousins.

Outfit links: New York & Company dress (here), Old Navy clutch (similar), black flats (similar), and Nine West sunglasses (similar).

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I can't get enough of this spring weather! The snow was really getting to me, along with everyone else. There are staples I must have to assist with the fluctuating weather this time of the year.

When April is acting like a lion make sure to have the items listed below:

Trench coat - I have a light weight trench coat that I like go turn to on rainy spring days.

Umberella - I have two Umberellas handy at all times. One in the car and one in my work tote bag.

Rain boots - Seriously, who enjoys having the bottom of their pants saturated?!

Hat - A cotton slouche hat is great to help with frizzy hair.

Jeans - Denim is the absolute worse on rainy day. BUT I do find that denim with stretch is great and not as restricting when wet.

Cross your fingers that May is calmer and you have these following essentials on hand:

A floral dress, wedges, sunglasses, and a derby hat or flower clips.
