Being Forward In Fashion: LA Fashion Market Recap

Have you ever wondered what great designers are out there that you have never heard of? There are many of them! It's hard to keep track of them all, but during my recent trip to the California Market Center for the LA Fashion Market, there are few that stood out. I will be recapping those designers and showrooms that stood out and I'm taking notes about them.

I was greeted by Alexandra in the Los Angeles Fashion Forwards Showroom and she took her time showing me the different designers displayed. I absolutely felt in love with the Olena Dats' dress below. It was beautifully structured and can be worn with minimal accessories to really make the dress POP!

The other item that stood out to me was the Faubourg Du Temple "Trocadero" Jacket. I really like that the sleeves are sequined, since it really helps the military jacket really stand out. How awesome would it be to wear when it gets colder?! Check out the items below and how I would style them!

Drool Worthy Wednesday: Gowns at Rent the Runway

Going along this week with the Oscar theme, I’m discussing the Rent the Runway website. To start off, I have never ordered from the website, because I haven't needed any gowns in the past. I do know that if I ever need a gorgeous gown, I will for a fact order from this site.

Like many women, I wore my prom and wedding dress once. ONCE. I feel like I can’t wear it again and I can sell them if I really wanted to. The beauty of Rent the Runway is that you can rent a gorgeous gown, get it insured, and when you’re done you send it back.

Imagine that! Normal people wearing designer gowns for a fraction of the cost. I like reading the the size and fit section on each item. It explains what the recommended height is to wear the gown, what sizes it is available in, and the lengths of the dresses. The website also shows where and how customers wore the dresses. I just love to browse and read all of the feedback the customers received from their outfits. 

The designers include: Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier, Nicole Miller, Reem Acra, Calvin Klein, BCBGMAXAZRIA , Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, and many more.

The items on the site range from casual dress to floor length evening gowns. SOME of the gowns even go up to a 22W, hello plus size and fabulous! There are accessories to go along with your dress, as well as undergarments and other essentials.

Rent the Runway also has an app in the Apple store!
